Pour ceux qui prétendent parler du Qatar, il est important de lire cet article qui a répertorié ces grandes familles (clans et ou tribus) et leurs poids dans différents secteurs de ce pays. Qatar, despite its rapid development and modernization, is still a tribal society at its core, at least when all the expats, who represent 88% of the population, are discounted for and the power structure of the country is analyzed. The following report delves into the most powerful families/tribes that are shaping Qatar both from political as well as economic points of view.
We used a myriad of different indicators to assemble this list (they appear at the end of the post) and while the fact that a family appears higher in the list might indicate it being more powerful than one that appears towards the bottom, the order of appearance should not strictly be taken as ranking (except in the case of the Al-Thani family/tribe).
